Empowering the Community: How CommunityAid Supports Life's Choices in Kutztown, PA
At CommunityAid, our mission has always been to serve our neighbors by partnering with local nonprofit organizations that are doing incredible work on the ground. We believe that when we come together, we can create a ripple effect of positive change. One of the most inspiring examples of this is our partnership with Life's Choices, an organization that has been a beacon of hope in Kutztown, Pennsylvania.
We recently had the privilege of speaking with the team at Life's Choices to hear more about their mission and how our shared values are making a difference.
A Legacy of Care in Kutztown
Life's Choices has been a cornerstone of the Kutztown community for decades. As they shared with us, "Life's Choices has been in existence for 37 years. We were started here in Kutztown and we're a block away from Kutztown University, so we do see college students here for our medical services."
They provide a comprehensive range of care for those navigating unexpected pregnancies and reproductive health concerns. "We provide STD testing and treatment, we also provide early confirmation of pregnancy through pregnancy tests and ultrasounds," they explained.
But their care extends far beyond the medical side. They also offer robust support programs: "We also have Support Services... and that provides parenting and pregnancy support for any parent who feels like they need a little extra help." In fact, at their Hamburg location, they often have "three or four classes scheduled per day" to help equip and educate new parents.
Exchanging Chaos for Confidence
What truly moves us at CommunityAid is the heart behind the services Life's Choices provides. They aren't just offering resources; they are offering a sanctuary.
Their goal is profound yet simple: "We want to bring them in, be a safe place... a place where they can exchange their chaos for confidence and their panic for empowerment."
When individuals walk through their doors, they are met with compassion and honesty. "We're here to be a support to them, we're here to give them truth about their situation," the team noted. This truth is often realized in powerful moments in the ultrasound room: "When they see the ultrasound and they see that little tiny heartbeat and they hear that heartbeat, they know it's a life. There's just no doubt about it."
A Partnership Built on Shared Values
The work Life's Choices does requires immense resources, dedication, and community backing. That is exactly why CommunityAid exists—to help fund and uplift organizations that are changing lives. When Life's Choices first connected with us, the alignment was undeniable.
"When we found out about CommunityAid and started learning about who you are and what your values are... it just felt like a really good fit because so many of our values are shared," they told us.
At CommunityAid, we share their vision for the community. Like Life's Choices, "We want to be a positive impact in the community, we want to be a light in the community." As they beautifully summarized their own calling, they strive to "be Jesus in a place where maybe we aren't speaking the name of Jesus all the time, but we're just being his hands and feet."
