- Social Justice, within which we promote gender equality, good governance and social accountability in management of public resources and affairs; and
- Promoting Good Governance in Kenya through People’s Voices: CAI is the lead agency in a partnership that implements The Scorecard Project – a national exercise. This project enables citizens throughout Kenya to express their opinion on the performance of the government of the day and local authorities. Through periodic surveys, people throughout the country express their views based on five thematic areas: Service Delivery, Economic Development, Human Rights, Gender equity, and Democratization. With The Scorecard Partnership (including ActionAid, Citizen’s Collision for Constitutional Change (4Cs), Strategic Public Relations and Research Ltd, and other partners, we promote dialogue, accountability, and issue-based national discourse. We are working in funding partnership with DFID and CIDA.
- Fighting for Women Empowerment: CAI is one of the foremost NGOs in fighting for empowerment of women and gender equality. Over the years, CAI has particularly been on women economic empowerment and gendering decision making and leadership. CAI has gender equality promotion activities in the coastal and in western parts of Kenya with funding support from UNIFEM and Ford Foundation.
